“Our work package bridges accelerator research and industry, ensuring that promising technologies are identified early, transferred effectively, and developed into solutions with real economic and societal impact.
“We aim to build a lasting European innovation ecosystem that strengthens knowledge transfer, supports deep-tech start-ups, and accelerates the uptake of accelerator technologies in industry, healthcare, and other societal applications.”
WP3 is all about turning cutting-edge accelerator research into real-world impact by bringing industry and academia closer together. As a strategic instrument in EPITA, it stretches across and connects between all other work packages.
WP3 strengthens knowledge and technology transfer through hands-on training, mentorship, and support for entrepreneurship. This helps researchers transform research breakthroughs into viable products, services, and even start-ups. It also establishes the Accelerator Industry Permanent Forum (AIPF) as a long-term platform for collaboration which aligns research with industrial capabilities, shapes policy, and produces strategic white papers.
The WP places emphasis on impact in healthcare and beyond by developing user-driven roadmaps for medical and societal applications of accelerator technologies. Through workshops, interviews, and collaboration with clinicians and industry, it ensures innovation responds directly to real-world needs. At the same time, our experts explore disruptive concepts for next-generation accelerators.
